Public Enemy recently signed a deal with a hella unique music label outta Amsterdam called SellaBand. SellaBand's business model is the complete opposite of traditional labels, because they ask for fans to pay for err fund the album before its even produced.
SellaBand and PE are looking to raise $250, 000 in increments of $25. Fans who invest 25 bucks will get a share of the revenue made, a numbered copy of the album and a fuzzy feeling inside knowing that they contributed to good hip-hop.
Note: This is actually a pretty good idea, although I'm fairly sure you can produce a hip-hop album for under $250, 000.
Double note: "I can't do nuffin for ya man."
