Yesterday was my first visit to 2 Gz in 4 months, but it was the same ole same ole, cause they were still talking shit and popping hard.

After checking in with Greg and Gino I took my normal seat on the stool near John and cranked up a convo concerning the Cotto/Paquiao fight that was going down later. John is a life long gambler, so right off the bat he tried coaxing me into a $10 wager; his money was on Paquiao. Although Greg and I considered Cotto the stronger fighter we didn't take John up on his offer.

During me and John's amateur pre-fight analysis I met this cat named Jerren Cochran who happened to be a local boxer. Jerren sat quietly and listened to a few minutes of mindless boxing chatter, before supplementing our discussion with real deal boxing ring experience. Jerren schooled me and School(see double note) on how Paquiao's aggressive nature, hand speed and Cotto's tendency to bleed would all lead to a loss for the Puerto Rican boxer. I still wasn't sold on Pac-Man, but you probably saw or heard about the fight so you already know my Cotto prediction was completely inaccurate. After the enlightening I had to ask Jerrin a few boxing related questions I had been wondering for ages.

Since Jerren was a boxer I had to ask him to expound on Floyd Mayweather's ingenious, yet simplistic chin defense. According to Jerren your chin has lots of nerve endings that go straight to your brain. Punching one's chin in the perfect position can "short circuit" your brain and drop you on the spot. Jerren did admit to getting dropped at the hands of a "big European", but recovering to win a decision. Jerren described himself as a counter-puncher with power.

Shortly after boxing talk Rill and Queen of Sweets Movie came into the shop and served me with brownies--which did not disappoint---and Gino with Lemon Pies. Sweets Movie is a mobile cakes/pies business that moves sweet snacks outta their car. If you're in Houston chances are they can meet you and to get you that sweet potato pie fix you've been craving. Hit them up via email at teclark@dixonvalue.com or on the cell at 713-924-8738 or 713-933-9291.

The day ended with John issuing me a dope tapered and Mike Epps educating me on this technique that older women use to employ.

Note: Jerren was unsure if he'd be fighting on the 21st of this month or the 19th of next. He said he'd come back through 2 Gz and drop off a flyer, so if he does I'll let ya'll know.

Double note: John the barber's alias is School.
